Full Description

Discover the soul of la Rioja Alavesa with a visit to a traditional cellar and the wine thematic centre. You will get a real taste of Northern Spain’s cuisine, and enjoy two relaxing nights in a four-star hotel.

Day 1

Arrive at your Laguardia hotel and enjoy the beautiful vineyard views from its hillside location. Start your experience with a traditional dinner in the hotel’s restaurant – one of the finest in the region – with an authentic menu that includes dishes such as pochas (Spanish white bean stew), a grilled meat board and homemade Basque cheesecake. Please note that drinks are not included in the price, but staff will be able to recommend affordable, good quality wine to complement your meal.

Day 2

Pay a visit to the wine thematic centre and museum, where you will learn how the wine is produced in this part of Spain. You will also get to experience the region’s delights through a 4D sensorial experience, and end your visit with a wine tasting.

Day 3

An English-speaking guide will take you on a tour of one of the oldest cellars in town, where you will enjoy a step-by-step guide through the process of making wine, ending with a tasting. This will be followed by a walk around the town and a visit to the magnificent Santa María de los Reyes church arcade.

Please note that transport is not included in this offer, and a vehicle will be needed to access the hotel. We recommend hiring a car from the airport. The closest airports to Laguardia are Bilbao, Vitoria, Logroño and Burgos.
